On November 11-12, 2020, the 2nd China Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Conference (2nd CGGC) was successfully held online, with more than 200 experts and scholars from more than 100 units at home and abroad participating in the conference through Tencent conferences and live broadcasts, hosted by LASG, Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences. On October 13th, Nangka, the 16th typhoon of the year, made landfall in Qionghai City, Hainan. From October 12th to14th 2020, Shanghai Typhoon Institute China Meteorological Administration, in cooperation with the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hong Kong Observatory, and other institutes and research centers conducted a sea-land-air field campaign over the South China Sea aimin.. On September 3, an oil tanker carrying 270,000 tons of crude caught fire in Sri Lanka southeast coast. The ship lost power and there was a potential serious oil leakage hazard. The ocean modelling group of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) immediately conducted the real-time analysis and forecast of the regional marine environments using the self-developed global 10-km ocean analysis and forecast system—LICO..
