2020 LASG Open Research Program application now starts. Researchers at home and abroad are welcome to participate in this application.

The State Key Laboratory of Numerical Modeling for Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics (LASG),Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences is an internationally renowned laboratory of atmospheric sciences. In the spirit of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, LASG Open Research Program is specially established to strengthen complementary communication among LASG and other atmospheric research institutes. LASG currently identifies four key research tasks:
1. Development of a new generation of high-resolution Earth climate system models
2. Sea-land-air interaction and its impact on China's climate
3. Predictability of high-impact weather and climate events and stability of geophysical fluid dynamics
4. Numerical model promotion and climate big data application

2020 LASG Open Research Program will give priority to application on following topics:

High-resolution atmospheric model, intricately detailed scale ocean model and sea ice model
Numerical methods of high-resolution land surface processes simulation
Air-land-sea interactions and monsoon dynamics
Predictability of high-impact weather and climate events; new methods of ensemble forecast and data assimilation
New algorithms to geophysical fluid dynamics
Simulation of climate change and decadal climate prediction
Application of big data to numerical modeling

Application requirements:
The applicant should be Non-LASG member.
The collaborator should be a LASG tenure scientist.
Research priority of the program must closely relate to LASG key research tasks.
