2018 Academic Committee Meeting of LASG Held in Beijing

Annual academic committee meeting of the State Key Laboratory of Numerical Modeling for Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics (LASG), Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences was held on December 6, 2018 in Beijing.

The main goal of the meeting was to hear and review LASG research, management and LASG research open programs. Work priorities for 2019 were also discussed.

CAS Academician Prof. MU Mu, director of LASG academic committee chaired the meeting.On behalf of LASG’s leadership, Director Prof. XIAO Ziniu gave a summary of LASG in 2018 and introduced work plan for 2019. Afterwards, deputy director Prof. DUAN Wansuo informed committee members of the open research programs implementation in 2018 and the application in 2019.

The academic committee all agreed that LASG had made impressive progress in the scientific research, laboratory management and openness and exchange in 2018 and put forward several suggestions for the lab development, which included satisfying national scientific demand, integrating modeling developing, theory research and observation, enhancing collaboration, preparing in advance for the 2020 national assessment, etc.

LASG academic committee and advisory committee members attended the meeting were ZENG Qingcun, DING Yihui, LI Chongyin, WU Guoxiong, MU Mu, WANG Huijun,SUN Zhaobo, HE Jinhai, ZHU Jiang, HU Yongyun, YANG Xiuqun, LI Weijing, WANG Bin, LU Riyu, XIAO Ziniu, WU Renguang,and ZHOU Tianjun. Deputy Director XIE Zhenghui, DUAN Wansuo and GUO Zhenhai attended the meeting as well.
