The 2017 Best Paper by National Science Review

The paper by Guoxiong Wu, et al., entitled "Tibetan Plateau climate dynamics: recent research progress and outlook", was awarded the 2017 Best Paper by National Science Review. National Science Review is a journal aimed at reviewing cutting-edge developments across science and technology in China and around the world, under the auspices of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. On June 26, 2018, Clarivate released the 2017 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), by which the latest impact factor for National Science Review (National Science Review, NSR, https://academic.oup.com/nsr) is 9.408, ranking 6th in the 64 comprehensive academic journals in the world included in SCI (9%, Q1 area).

This review paper presented the progress on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) climate dynamics achieved over the past decade especially at LASG/IAP, including several theoretical frameworks such as thermal adaptation and the TP sensible heat (SH) driving air-pump, thermal effects of TP and Iranian Plateau upon the formation and onset of East Asian and South Asian summer monsoons, as well as the multi-scale variability of the Asian summer monsoon.
